Whittling.....
Woodcarving.....
Woodsculpting.....
Whatever you may call it, it is the creation of something from
a piece of wood. I first became interested in the hobby a few
months ago when I came across a book titled "Whittling
and Woodcarving" by E.J. Tangerman. A very informative
and robust book, it describes various whittling and carving
techniques. It is a very good book, and I highly recommend to
anyone interested in whittling and woodcarving.
Then, a few months ago, I came across a program on DIY network about branch carving.
It featured Chris Lubkeman, a highly experienced and talented carver who has been working with wood for many years.
He was showing how to carve a rooster out of a Y shaped branch.
This program sparked my interest, and I tried my hand at branch carving.
My first attempt wasn't perfect, but you could tell that it was a rooster.
Over time, I began trying other things, such as keychains, letter openers, among other items.
With just a normal 2-bladed pocketknife, a bit of patience, and other materials, I have created everything you see pictured on this website.
Feel free to browse this site(which is still under construction), and to contact me if you would like to purchase any of my creations.
